Pilates

All proposed exercises have as their main focus the acquisition of balanced postures, in order to use the center of the body as the basis for all movements. The Pilates class thus provides greater awareness of the body for better rehabilitation and postural learning.

Basic principles

At the beginning of the 20th century, Joseph Pilates developed a new technique: pilates. It was a set of exercises to stretch, strengthen and balance the body.

Thus, Joseph created a specific technique based on 8 basic principles:

1. Concentration

 2. Breathing

3. Centralization

4. Control

5. Accuracy

6. Movement

7. Isolation

 8. Routine

Body & Mind

The basis of the method is working with the muscles of the "power house" - center of strength, a term created by Pilates to define the central region of the body. These muscles function to provide stability to the body and play a fundamental role in supporting the spine. Among the various benefits of Pilates we can name the following: better posture, greater coordination, greater range of movement and increased muscle tone and corrects postural problems. Exercising should be a priority to avoid future postural problems.

More conscious. Better posture.

The Method is essential in treating these discomforts as it promotes rehabilitation exercises that act in these areas, as well as stretching and flexibility exercises that teach the spine the correct posture for your daily life. The use of small equipment, such as the Magic Circle, the Fitness Ball, the Roller, the Elastic Band and the Soft Ball, contributes to the diversification of this training method, and can be used either to facilitate the understanding of a particular exercise performed by the student, as well as to increase the challenges and their increasing evolution.
